Neela Jaal is the print we’d point a first-time buyer to. The jaal — literally “net” — is a four-petal lattice carved into a single teak block and pressed edge to edge across the length of cloth, so the pattern reads as a continuous grid rather than a repeated tile.
It’s printed in a deep, slightly warm indigo that’s mixed by hand in small batches and doesn’t shift undertone the way some synthetic navy dyes do after a few washes. The base cloth is a 144 thread-count cotton percale, woven light enough for a warm night and substantial enough that the print doesn’t bleed through to the reverse.
Like every Sanganeri print in this collection, no two lengths are pressed identically — the block is realigned by eye for each repeat, so small variations in spacing are part of the cloth, not a defect.

What fabric and thread count do you use?
144 thread-count, 180 GSM pure cotton percale, pre-shrunk before printing and washed again after.
How do I wash a hand-printed sheet?
Hand wash or gentle machine wash in cold water, separately, for the first three washes while any excess natural dye settles.
Which size should I order?
All sheets are flat sheets with a deep tuck allowance. Single 90×60in, Double 90×100in, King 108×100in.
Shipping, COD and returns?

Ordered the double for a guest room and the indigo held its colour through a whole monsoon of washes. Feels like proper mulmul, not the stiff printed cotton I expected.

Was worried the online swatch wouldn’t match what arrived — it did, down to the small print irregularities that tell you it’s actually hand-stamped.

Lovely weight and print, just note the “double” is a little larger than our old sheet so tuck-in is generous rather than snug. Not a complaint, just useful to know.
